Hello, everyone! On June 7, 1860, Johann Jakob Herold, along with his family arrived in the port of New Orleans on the ship, Goshen. This means that in 2010, we will be celebrating the sesquicentennial of when our Herold ancestors first stepped foot on U.S. soil! I am hoping to work on putting together a reunion here in Buffalo County, where we can get together and see where the Herold family came to and where many of them spent the majority of their lives. If anyone is interested in helping out, I would love to form a committee that could meet on a monthly or bi-monthly basis to plan some of these activities starting soon.
